How does this program work
VIP FW uses credible outreach workers that have respect and influence in the communities in which they serve.
Their jobs consist of mediating conflict that may lead to gun violence or altercations where a gun has been involved.
The goal is to de-escalate the situation and prevent any retaliatory gun violence from occurring.

VIP FW focuses attention in areas that have been identified as shooting hotspots
Young men who are at risk of being recruited into group violence
Young men ranging in age from 12 years of age to 29 years of age
Young men who are actively involved in group violence
Communities that are victims of group violence.

Program Impact
VIP FW was formed in January 2020. in the first 10 months of the nception year and during a COVID Pandemic, VIP FW outreach workers interrupted 31 shootings.
We monitor gang activity using street outreach. Our neighborhood change agents have daily check ins wi….provide mentoring.
And as of today, VIP FW has established a de-escallation and mediation presence in the community.

VIP-FW program reduces gun violence in Fort Worth urban neighborhoods by providing transformational opportunities to young men involved in lethal firearm offenses and placing them in a high-touch, personalized fellowship.
